Designing Dense Commerce

Modern commerce UX — the kind perfected by large-scale marketplaces — treats density as respect for the user's time. Status is never more than one glance away; actions sit next to the data they affect; screens change only when the task changes.

Dense Commerce, our design language, follows the same principles without imitating anyone's pixels. Compact data cards with tabular numerals. Status pills that read at a glance. A strong action hierarchy: one primary action per view, everything else quiet until needed. Progressive disclosure on mobile — bottom sheets, not buried menus.

Underneath it is a token system: every color, radius, spacing step and shadow is a named variable. That is what makes dark mode, RTL, and per-store brand colors a configuration problem instead of a redesign.
